Bored with what you do for a living? It’s not just you” You’d be surprised to know how many people are tired of their monotonous professional life. Most of us feel it’s a drudge to get up at a set time, go to office at a set time, do the same things and go to the same places, year in and year out. Boredom has the power to make us -slipshod and do the only a minimum of work. But the, question is, why are we bored?

Most of us tend to buck at set routines. We hate being told what to do when to do it. However, a schedule has its plus points. After all without a routine in place, we wouldn’t know whether we were on our head or’ on our heels. Think of the stress that would entail. A set routine allows for more time to think of new ideas and to look at our jobs in a new light.

Even more importantly, you know what to expect as nothing is uncertain – what is more important than that.

But if boredom is really eating away at you, then it’s time for a change. Take time to think about your job and what needs to be changed about it. Sometimes just adding something new can help you revive, even if it’s something as silly as taking a new route to office or going out for lunch. You could even volunteer to take one extra aspect of work.

Everyone gets bored at one point or another, especially if s/he has worked in a place for more than a-year. But instead of letting it get to you, take steps to work around the obstacle and you might find things changing for the better.
